KATHLEEN KATER
Owner/Director

Kathleen Kater received a BA degree from Wake Forest University in 1971, with a major in Psychology and a minor in History. She then received a MA degree in Education and Counseling from Duke University in 1972. Upon graduation, she moved to Phoenix and obtained a teacher/counselor position that she held for ten years. In 1983, Kathleen began work for Environments by Rob Kater, Inc (EBRK) until taking a position with the Devereux Foundation in 1990. Kathleen returned to EBRK in 1993 as the business manager and held that position until 2000. In 2004, Kathleen became a court appointed special advocate (CASA) of foster children and continues to donate her time as a CASA. In 2009, she began a joint directorship of NRI with Cecilia Homan. Kathleen has been an active supporter of various environmental groups, with a special interest in environmental reclamation work as done by NRI.
